We’re excited to share this Mediterranean vibe shoot with you today by captured by Helen Warner Photography with planning + styling by Vanilla Rose Weddings and White Olive Design Studio. Not only is it utterly beautiful, but we’re thrilled that it includes a host of our recommended wedding suppliers from the B.LOVED Edit directory too including The Curated Kitchen, Kate Cullen and Luella’s Bridal!
“Our vision and inspiration for this shoot was the beautiful textures and tones of the Mediterranean scenery. Destination weddings are hugely popular, and we wanted to bring the best elements of that beauty and romance to our English soil. We wanted to show you how you can create that beautiful, rustic elegance Mediterranean wedding here in the U.K. The main elements to give that real Mediterranean feel we’re the outdoor terraced areas, abundance of olive leaves and greenery, a relaxed grazing table and soft textures/tones used throughout the detailing.
Many Italian and French countryside weddings feature banquets bursting with colour, texture, and beauty, so we wanted to recreate that with a gorgeous grazing table by The Curated Kitchen, filled with an abundance of fresh organic produce which guests could feast over, and enjoy with friends.
We designed a stunning Ceremony setting where Blue Sky Flowers built the most beautiful arch, filled with olive branches, eucalyptus and blousy white roses , framing a beautiful romantic quote which was hand lettered and printed onto a fabric backdrop. We mainly used olive branches to really reflect the Mediterranean style and this was carried out throughout several elements from the bouquet and buttonholes to the structured ceremony arch and confetti. To break up some of the green, lighter white and soft pink florals were used throughout which added a more luxurious and soft feel.
Our tablescape was styled with hand-dyed silks created by Kate Cullen, individual fabric menus, modern calligraphy place names and the most beautiful and delicate Cutipol brushed gold cutlery. The stationery by White Olive Design Studio used on trend vellum and handmade leaf papers layered together, with a contemporary minimalist design and luxury hand finished touches. The low bowl centrepieces were filled with incredible blooms and lots of trailing foliage. Bowls overflowing with fresh figs and olives, really brought everything together. It’s a tablescape designed to enjoy with friends, and really create a social environment to enjoy delicious food and beautiful wine together. Finally, our Bride wore the most incredible Grecian style gown by Luella’s Bridal, paired with natural make up and a loose but elegant hairstyle; dressed with simple golden hair accessories to compliment the overall look.”
3 TIPS FOR CREATING THIS LOOK:
To give that Mediterranean feel the main thing is light so when venue hunting make sure you have somewhere that offers a good outside space, preferably with an indoor option that’s equally light and airy should the weather not play ball. Graveled patios, cobbled or paved terraces are all great canvases to start with.
Olive trees, branches and leaves are a great way to bring in that Mediterranean vibe and can be used throughout all of your styling so it’s a great option.
Simple props can really help to add a romantic feel and enhance the beauty of your light and airy venue. Candles and lanterns are great for using along the aisle and can then be moved to other areas to dress up a reception area. Fabric signage is also a perfect way to show your guests where to sit or to welcome them to your wedding, the flowing movement of the sign will enhance that romantic feel even more.
