Hello lovelies! How are you this afternoon?  I’m nervous and excited to share this post with you today as it’s all about, well, me!

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to have a photo shoot with awesome South African photographer Monica Dart.  Monica is the photographer behind the lens at some amazing weddings, capturing them in her unique and creative style, so of course I wasn’t going to turn her down!  On a sunny Sunday afternoon in August I met up with Monica and fellow blogging buddy Gaby, of Cap Classique, and we set off to some beautiful locations in South West London to get our model on!

So… this is me! Hello :)

I wanted to capture a little bit of me, and a little bit of what Bijoux Bride means to me.  We took some relaxed shots in the Italian Garden’s at Cannizaro Park in Wimbledon to begin with…

In case you haven’t already noticed, I have a real passion for details, creativity and styling!  I love spotting new trinkets and objects for different shoots I am working on, my office and our home in general.   I’ve collected all sorts of ‘bijoux’ objects in the last few months too, so we set up a little styled shoot with some of the things I love… cupcakes, flowers and a beautiful book of love poetry I was given for my wedding that always inspires me.  The gorgeous garland was created especially for Bijoux Bride by the wonderful Nicola of Concrete & Honey, and now graces my little office!

Thanks to Monica’s super relaxed style, we chatted away like we’d known each other for years, so instead of the self-conscious wreck I thought I’d be I was actually pretty chilled and even enjoyed it!   Monica’s passion for photography, and energy for life in general, is a huge inspiration.  With a history in fine art photography, she captures the character and pure emotion of her subjects perfectly in a natural, unobtrusive way.  Monica is based in Cape Town, but also travels abroad to shoot weddings, any couple would be so lucky to have her capture their day!  You can see one of Monica’s recent weddings here on Bijoux Bride, or check out her website for more beautiful photography.

At the end of the shoot (Gaby decided to do hers in her old stomping ground of Putney) we ventured down to the Thames for a little paddle… we might have had some crazy looks from passers by, but this is one of my favourite shots from the day!

I love my photo’s, testament to Monica’s talent, and I’m delighted I got to share them all with you!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
