BLANCHE & THE BRAMBLES
I’m so thrilled to introduce you to a beautiful brand, and super talented wedding pro today! Elizabeth Rose, owner of bridal accessories brand Blanche in the Brambles is one of those people whose natural talent and skill makes working with her a real pleasure. Creating beautiful vintage-inspired faux-fur wraps for style-savvy brides since 2010, Liz has provided the finishing touch to many wedding day outfits, adding a sense of timeless elegance and modern glamour.
Whatever season you’re tying the knot, Blanche in the Brambles collection is filled with covetable pieces to suit many styles – from the dainty Amelie shrug to the statement Tilda jacket covered in the softest silvery-grey ostrich feathers (my fave!).
I was delighted to team up with Liz and photographer Claire Graham to create a new set of images to showcase the collection, and celebrate the launch of her newly designed site www.blanchinthebrambles.co.uk.
Of course, these gorgeous pieces are totally wearable beyond the big day too; pair with jeans, top and heels for a city-chic look, or add to a cocktail dress for all-out glam!
After graduating from the London College of Fashion, the foundations of my career were built in Paris where I worked for Lacoste, Agnes b and Premiere Vision. Upon returning to London I joined Fenwick of Bond Street in the accessories buying team, my most favourite job EVER before I launched Blanche in the Brambles in 2010.
Whilst working in Fenwick, we had a lovely pair of ear muffs for sale but I couldn’t stretch to them, so I made my own pair, this time using an elastic cord instead of the traditional metal based band. They were such a hit with the senior buyer, she ordered 15 pairs before I even had a brand name. And so, Blanche in the Brambles was born and within 3 years of trade I sold my luxury faux fur accessories into Liberty of London, Selfridges, Fortnum and Mason, ASOS, Topshop Oxford Street, Anthropologie and Heal’s.
I now work full-time in the Blanche in the Brambles studio in Bristol with the help of freelance makers and interns and my little puppy Frank. Together we design and make all of our garments and accessories. Next to the studio we have a little showroom to welcome our clients. We can safely and proudly boast that these are the two fluffiest rooms in England.
In 2014 I launched an eagerly anticipated bridal collection, sold online and in a handful of prestigious bridal stores. The collection consists of a beautiful and exquisite set of bridal cover-ups, designed for a fashion forward bride seeking nothing short of the finest luxury jacket to complement her couture gown.
With brides opting more frequently for winter weddings and following the overlap of the ‘faux fur’ trend into the world of bridal wear, Blanche in the Brambles is a label that fills a gap for design-led and brand-led faux fur cover-ups that are not astronomically priced.
The collection is unique and on-trend, using a delicious palette of bridal pastels including ivory, opal grey, blush pink and minky brown. We’ve combined faux fur with jewels, billowing silk and tulle. We’ve also got a mohair cape and a feather stole arriving very soon.
I am so proud of this collection and really can’t wait to let brides know about it. We are also hugely proud to work with faux fur, offering a high class alternative to real fur.
