MOODBOARD: Modern Ideas for a Relaxed Beach Wedding
Hi Lovelies! Welcome to our latest moodboard, where we are dreaming of a modern destination wedding with totally relaxed vibes. If you’re loving the wedding trend of dried palm leaves (we are soooo much!!), you’ll adore this neutral colour palette with hints of muted gold and blush.
Oversized palm leaves are perfect for creating statement installations at your modern beach wedding, whether as a striking ceremony backdrop or hanging over your reception tables . Mix-up your floral design by adding contemporary lighting or statement pendants – or both!
Interior design trends are a key source of inspiration for me, you can always find something a bit different and creative. We’ve been inspired by lots of hanging florals, wooden pendant shades and fabulous tassel pendants. Pendant lights and tassels are definitely something you’re going to be seeing lots more of in 2019/20 weddings, BIG LOVE!
GET THE LOOK – THE FASHION
When it comes to bridal fashion, our destination wedding dress goals are high! If you’re planning a modern beach wedding in a warmer climate, we’d recommend a casual beach wedding gown in light, flowing fabrics to keep you cool and calm all the way from ceremony to last dance. You could go for something detailed with embroidery, chic lace or embellishments or, if you’re into minimalism like us, opt for something sleek and simple.
This look is crying out for accessories – statement earrings, an on-trend resin bangle and a fashionable ponytail with a gold cuff for a contemporary chic bridal look! We’ve spotted a few Pronovias wedding dresses that perfectly fit the bill, check them out for plenty of inspiration your modern beach wedding look.
GET THE LOOK – THE DECOR
This look is aaaaaall about the statement pieces, from a palm leaf covered ceremony arch on the beach, on-trend acrylic seating plans and weddings signs and of course dramatic over-the-table installations.
We love seeing dried palm leaves with pampas grasses or even natural cotton, but it really gets our hearts racing when we see dried elements contrasted with fresh flowers too. Whether it’s the tropical vibes of orchids or classically romantic roses, this is a look you and your florist can have an awful lot of fun with!
Keeping the colour palette fairly neutral with hints of muted colour really helps to make this look work without being too over the top. Sandy golden tones are a nod to the beach without being too try-hard, while hints of matt gold are a beautiful way keep the look feeling special and luxe.
Want to something that pop? Instead of muted blush you could always add a stronger hint of terracotta, coral, ochre or even teal!
