Mythical Greek Pre-Wedding Shoot on Horseback

To celebrate their love, Sophia and George decided to announce their wedding with a romantic pre-wedding shoot. Nikos Koutoulas Photography beautifully captured this simple, elegant scene that depicted the couple’s love for each other and showcased their Greek roots.

Pompon Story Events styled this shoot in a natural, almost mythical manner. With a nostalgic approach, the couple posed in their homeland, Preveza, Epirus Greece. The day started at the River Acheron with an intimate horse-back ride and ended with a private picnic dinner at the remains of Pantocrator castle.

Style and Colour Palette

The overall style was classic and laid-back. The choice of location, along the coast of the breath-taking Ionian Sea and the delicate colour palette gave the shoot a natural, romantic look.

Neutral tones of white, light brown, beige and grey were used in combination with soft pastels like dusty pink and light peach. The stationery was designed in neutral colours while the floral décor included pretty feminine hues.

Floral Design and Key Details

A combination of fresh and dried flowers with lots of greenery was used in the floral décor. The flower arrangements by Elpida Salouka included roses, chrysanthemum, carnation, limonium, bunny tails and eucalyptus. In a fun twist, lots of edible flowers were used into the décor for styling the cocktails, creating handmade ice-cubes and elsewhere in the eclectic dinner set-up.

Classic custom stationery was designed with sketched flowers and white letterpress on craft paper. A consistent theme of modern minimalism and romantic elegance was applied in the stationery suite through the neutral colour palette, fancy plexi-glass and use of real flowers that matched the sketched floral designs.

Our bride-to-be opted for a refined look with a simple line, long sleeved lace dress and a brown belt that fit the natural, romantic concept of the shoot.

Key Tips

  • Pick a neutral colour palette that effortlessly goes with an elegant yet laid-back style. Free-styling the décor further help to create a natural yet romantic atmosphere.
  • Choose a unique venue that is surrounded by attractive natural features like a forest or river. This type of location offers an unparalleled romantic atmosphere and makes an amazing backdrop for a couple’s pre-wedding shoot.
  • Use an experience for the shoot. Horse-back riding along a lovely coast can be a memorable experience while also making for great photos.
