Natural and Chic

Happy New Year lovelies! I hope 2017 has started well for you all and you had a wonderful Christmas. Have we all made some New Year’s Resolutions? Mine is to go to the theatre more – I never like to give up things, more try and achieve more and have more fun. That said, the New Year is a great time to start fresh and with this in mind I always think that early year weddings suit a very clean, fresh, minimalist look which I have brought to you today. Taking greenery elements (this year’s Pantone) and keeping with natural and organic elements I have combined images and ideas with a clean and elegant feel. Think Boho chic.

The colour scheme incorporates beiges, stones and greens and when using natural elements such as earthenware plates and wild loose florals, it’s easy to achieve. Pair different textures and different tones of colours together and build layers to add a point of interest to the look. Think linen cloths draped with a silk runner on a long table. Match with rustic plates and cutlery and elegant glassware. Stone urns to hold your florals look glorious and use foliage to the max and create texture and a focal point. Keep hair and make-up fairly natural and perhaps think about wearing your hair down with a loose wave. Boho floaty dresses would complete the look beautifully. Textured paper would be such a treat and use either calligraphy font or simple printed details. Details are key as is layering the different materials and textures but don’t go too overboard; keep it simple, clean and fresh and you will achieve a natural and chic look for your wedding.

Being named after Jane Austen’s Emma, it is serendipitous that I would end up working in weddings. A country girl at heart, I am equally comfortable roaming the farm in my tweed, surrounded by animals or sat in a beautiful Georgian property dining on afternoon tea and sipping champagne. With a strength in organising and a flair for creativity and a passion for everything wedding related I have been lucky enough to work as a Wedding Co-Ordinator for some stunning venues across the South East. I look after the social media and am Co-Planner at Goose & Berry, luxury wedding & event planners & caterers based in London & Buckinghamshire ( and am on hand to help you plan and design your perfect day.
