Pearl Anniversary Surprise Vow Renewal

Brian wanted to arrange a surprise vow renewal for his wife, Siobhan, as they were celebrating 30 years together. Braian contacted Lefkas Weddings a few weeks before their family holiday to Greece. The family, who had spent much of the year apart, had spent a wonderful holiday on the island of Lefkas the previous summer so it seemed that an obvious choice for this special rendezvous.

Siobhan was expecting to celebrate the occasion with a simple family dinner at their favourite restaurant on the island. Brian was not known for planning surprises or events so wanted to take the lead and make all the arrangements for a memorable evening with their daughters. A

Siobhan was completely blown away by the surprise which was met with lots of joy and happy tears as Brian led Siobhan by her hand to their vow renewal ceremony on the terrace by the sea.

The Ceremony

Siobhan thought her wedding ring was safely back at the jewellers in the UK being cleaned. She was surprised and delighted to find it presented to her by Brian for this second meaningful moment in their life together.

It was important that Brian and Siobhan’s two daughters were included in the ceremony and they also wanted to weave in some local traditions as Greece was a place of many fond memories for the family. Lefkas Wedding included an exchange of olive wreaths, called stefana, in the ceremony. This fun and beautiful local ritual was led by their daughtersTierney and Ailiswho then read a poem entitled ‘Thirty Years’ which they had written for the occasion.

The Colour Palette & Décor

To compliment their surroundings, Brian chose a clean and stylish colour scheme of olive green, white and gold. The white Phalaenopsis orchids were the standout highlight of the ceremony and were also included on the family’s dinner table. These were paired with eucalyptus and olive fabric for a refined and elegant look.
