Personal Post ~ Finding my focus

It’s a little unusual for me to post on a Saturday. A few of you have asked to get to know the ‘girl behind the blog’, so recently I have been thinking about writing more personal posts.   To be honest I find the idea a little scary, so I put it out there on twitter asking for some advice from some of the bloggers I really admire, and who write such beautiful personal posts.  My favourite response was from Annabel of Love My Dress, who simply replied “From the heart”.

And so, here goes.  From the heart…

There has been so much going on in the past few weeks and months that I feel like it’s time to take a breather and put things a little into perspective.  Last week, I went out for lunch with friend and exceptionally talented wedding cake designer Janet Mohapi-Banks, a lady who I respect and admire not just as a brilliant, creative and independent supplier, but also balancing being a business woman, mum and wife.  During the couple of hours we spent chatting we got talking about our businesses, and in just a few words Janet sparked an idea got me thinking about some very exciting new things for b.loved blog and styling.  It’s going to involve a lot of hard work, late nights and, I’m sure, difficult decisions.  It’s also going to mean a more focussed blog, more (and better!) content, new partnerships and collaborations, and (hopefully) some exciting events for you to get involved in REALLY soon! So, this week I’ve been busy meeting the people who can make this all happen, keep your eyes peeled over the next few months for updates, news and announcements :)

It’s been a week full of pretty lovely things too ~

I got up early on Saturday morning and worked with the sunshine streaming in the window.  Sunshine makes me happy!

I collated my favourite images from my recent styled shoots, got them printed and selected the top 10 to go on my office wall.  A great way to feel inspired, and remember just what you’ve achieved!

I started making pretty things for next week’s b.loved tweetup, I can’t wait! (PS Anyone who has received an invite but not RSVP’d yet, please get in touch!)

I received parcels from Etsy sellers in the US full of goodies for my next shoot, and discovered the beautiful app PicFX, which makes all my pictures sparkly! (Thanks Florence Finds for sharing!)

I met up with photographer Anneli Marinovich to chat about new projects, and she brought along a copy of this weeks’ Stylist for me (she knows me so well!)

And I went to the launch party of the soft and pretty new Johanna Hehir collection, Mae, wearing my favourite new pink suede shoes.

You can follow me on Instagram (blovedweddings) to see daily what I’m up to, I’m pretty addicted!!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
