personal post: just the way you are

Morning lovelies! It’s been a while since I did a Sunday post, but today I have something a little different I wanted to share.

At the end of last year, Mr B and I had a quick trip to South Africa for a family, and while we were there I made the most of catching up with some of my fave SA peeps.  One of those is photographer Monica Dart, who not only takes beautiful, creative wedding photos but also specialises in feminine, artistic boudoir photography.

Over the past 12 months, the concept of boudoir has become more popular with brides, and I’ve been lucky to feature some beautiful boudoir shoots here on b.loved.  My biggest inspiration in the art of boudoir is renowned photographer Elizabeth Messina, who captures the very essence of the model who sits for her, much like a traditional painter.  Being a firm believer that I can’t promote or recommend something on b.loved that I haven’t personally experienced, I wanted to arrange my own boudoir shoot.  One that, in true b.loved style, was pretty and creative, and captured my own personal style.  Monica was the perfect photographer to get involved, with her artistic flair creating beautiful portraits, but her easy going nature making it just another day hanging out with a great friend.  We nattered, drank tea, ate fondant fancies and took these:

There’s not a thing that I would change,
‘Cause you’re amazing,
Just the way you are”

Whether for your fiancé or for just you, it’s a beautiful way to celebrate you, just the way you are.

Thank you to the kind-hearted Sanmarie who beautified me for the shoot, the generous Hawksmoor House for providing the beautiful room,  Victoria Millésime for sending the pretty headpieces all the way to SA, and to Monica for the treasured photographs and memories.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
