Pin It Forward UK: A b.loved guide to pinterest
Pinterest. How did we ever live without it? An online tool for collecting, saving and sharing inspiration, Pinterest has revolutionised the wedding industry since it’s launch 3 years ago, with 1 in 3 engaged couples now using it to plan their wedding!!
A few weeks ago I had an email from the team at Pinterest inviting me to take part in Pin It Forward UK, a campaign to promote the UK pinning community. It’s my favourite planning tool, so I was excited to take part! If you haven’t heard of Pinterest yet (have you been living under a rock?!) or haven’t quite got your head around how it can work for you yet, grab my brand new b.loved Guide To Pinterest – my very own step-by-step guide. There’s some great recommendations of pinners to follow on there too… more about them in just a tick.
As a bride who planned her wedding without Pinterest (it hadn’t launched yet, sad face) I know how hard it is to keep all your ideas organised – and to find that perfect image again three weeks later. Urgh. Allowing you not only save your pins, but share them with your mum, bridesmaids and friends makes Pinterest one of the best inventions, well, ever! It also auto-magically saves the link of the image – so if you’ve saved the perfect bouquet photo but want to find out the florist, then you can click on the image and it will take you right back to the original webpage. Genius.
I use Pinterest to source all the images on my inspiration boards, and styling posts. I also create boards for styled shoots to share my ideas with collaborators, and most excitingly with my brides. It makes it so quick and easy to share ideas and make comments so in the early planning stages we can rule in or out lots of different themes without sending a billion emails a day, it has been known ;) It also means they can keep their bridal party and family up to date on their thoughts too – one of my current brides is sharing boards with her mum, who lives hours away, to keep her included in the process. So Pinterest brings people together too!
It’s fair to say I’m a bit of a Pinterest addict, with almost 100 boards crammed with pretty images, and almost 10,000 pins, mostly of the wedding variety. I’ve created a new board especially for Pin It Forward, a board for a b.loved bride… she is a true romantic with creative contemporary style. From the prettiest stationery to the most beautiful blooms, the perfect dress and the most stylish shoes, every detail is carefully considered and styled in the prettiest possible way. This is her b.loved wedding day…
You can follow me at www.pinterest.com/blovedwed, and while you’re there why not check out some of my favourite UK pinners?
