A Pretty Modern Elegant Wedding in Soft Pink + White for Spring

Mixing pretty feminine colours and modern trendy details can be tricky, but this wonderful wedding inspiration brings everything together to create a creative modern wedding with heaps of romance! Captured by Kelby Maria Photography with stylist + planner Peachy Keen Coordination who tells us all about the details and how to achieve this look! “Our design inspiration started with the question of ‘what does every little girl seem to dream about when she is little?’ and with that question to so many ladies in their mid 20s and 30s we found two consecutive answers: what her wedding will be like and also being a real life ballerina. Ballet is such an art form, it requires much focus, lots of flexibility, understanding, patience…and once you pull it all together after much work, it becomes like a relationship — a dance if you will.”

We really desired our flowers to be feminine and airy while still having lovely textures as well. Revel Petals mixed a medley of both dried and fresh pieces, to accomplish something rich and artistic. We really wanted each floral to stand on pointe and with proper extension. Each floral had it’s moment in the spotlight, nothing too crowded and competing with one another but instead working together. We were particularly loving the use of pampas grass emerging from the floor as if it powered through the foundation of the building.

So often, we find that couples are offered the option of long rectangle tables OR round tables. We decided to offer something else — by combining rectangle tables and utilizing a dreamy chiffon runner to hide the seam, we created an extra wide, nearly square table so that guests would have plenty of foot room yet still be able to carry an engaging conversation across the table. With full table settings in white, blush, and of course lots of gold, this tablescape was all things soft and airy, but also lush and dainty. Rather than opting in for the traditional name card, Love Hope Cookies sweetly created cookies with each guests’ name as a dual purpose party favor from the couple.

This cake is unlike anything else that we have seen — trust me, I hunted through the world of pinterest to try to find what I was trying to explain to our talented baker,Next Dimension Bakery. Essentially, I visualized the ultimate traditional raspberry linzer cookie, but multiply it times ten. That’s right, this cake has 19 layers with a raspberry topping and accents of sweet peas, roses, and just because we REALLY wanted to be extra, it was topped with blush lemon meringues for just a bit of zest!

It was really important to us that our sweet bride be able to move around during her celebration — whether that meant spinning around in her dress in a childlike, whimsical way or completing a more sophisticated Pirouette. This was accomplished by allowing the comfort of some strap, movement below the hip (while still accentuating her adorable figure) and of course, the comfort of her beloved ballet slippers that she actually grew up in. We accessorized adoringly with dainty rose gold accents and a statement engagement ring/wedding band from Miadonna. Our groom on the other hand sported a posh Calvin Klein suit in gray with a blush tie to match and a dried bout to coordinate with the bridal bouquet which contained a combination of mixed and fresh florals.

Our stationery by Caitlin O’Bryant Design was a very well thought out detail — we wanted guests to feel the joy and passion that these two have for dance and see them dancing through life together rather than alone. With that in mind, we wanted the stationery to feature groupings rather than single ballet dancers. Everything was crafted in a sophisticated way with velum and handmade paper. The combination of calligraphy and type was intentional to offset one another.
