You’ve heard of the ‘newly-wed glow’, but it’s couples who still have that radiance for months – and years – into their marriage that really capture our hearts at B.LOVED HQ.  So needless to say, alongside engagement sessions and real weddings, anniversary shoots are top of our favourites list.

This beautiful couple travelled all the way from the US, bringing their love to the dreamy lavender fields of Provence to celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary. Captured by destination wedding photographer Gert Huygaerts, it simply oozes the romance and beauty that comes from a deep love, enjoy!

From The Bride…Chad and I started dating in our first year of college. After graduation, I moved to Boston to pursue my master’s degree while he raced motorcross professionally and started up a business. We maintained the long distance relationship for five years before he proposed and I moved back to Vermont to start our lives together.

This October, we will be celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary.

A few years ago I ran across a picture on Instagram of a beautiful lavender field that seemed to go on forever and fell in love with the idea of going there. I did a little research and learned that it was in the Provence region of France. I heard wonderful things about Provence but it had not been on my list of places to visit until I saw that picture. Since we graduated from college we have made it a point to go away together once a year, just the two of us to reconnect and enjoy each other’s company. For the past 16 years, we have taken our vacations in the fall to avoid the crowds, to celebrate our anniversary and the timing fit well into our work schedules. The lavender season runs from mid-June to late July so this would be our first summer vacation together. It is a challenge for him to take time off in the summer but he saw how much it meant to me and gave me the green light to begin planning. The thoughts of frolicking through lavender fields made the cold winter months in Vermont bearable and got me through busy season.

We had an incredible trip! We visited quaint Provencal towns, wandered through farmer markets, took midnights strolls, and ate way too many crème glacées and macarons. We walked through sunflower fields, olive groves, and watch sunsets from the lavender fields. The lavender smelled as wonderful as it looked and there’s nothing quite like the humming of the buzzing bees.

The best part of the trip was just spending time together without the distraction of work. I am truly thankful that our paths crossed in that business class so many years ago. He has been my best friend for more than half my life and my family loves him as much as I do.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
