Quintessential English Garden

We’re so incredibly excited to share this utterly amazing shoot by Theresa Furey Photography, styled by Kate Cullen, and in such an incredibly beautiful part of the English countryside – The Cotswolds. The photography from Theresa Furey captures perfectly the gorgeous light and softness that an English garden has to offer, evoking that sense of timeless beauty that historic gardens seem to provide. There are many elegant details throughout and here Theresa and Kate tell us more about them, including the wonderful gown Kate painted using watercolours…

“Inspirations for wedding designs come from so many places, but the quintessential English country garden is always a favourite of stylist Kate Cullen. Nestled in the beautiful Cotswolds the gardens at Barnsley House are the perfect romantic backdrop. With knot gardens, laburnum walk, ornamental fruit and vegetable plots and statues, the grounds are picture perfect. Rosemary Verey designed the gardens in the 1950s, and we honoured her and her husband in the romantic stationery designs by Emerald Paper Design featuring English roses.”

“We wanted to capture the English Afternoon tea with a cake and English desserts of Eton Mess and scones from The Vanilla Pod Bakery, a loose leaf tea station and of course some garden-inspired cocktails from The Wrens Nest, perfect for a summer’s evening reception. The floral overtones were reflected in the watercolour print of the dress painted by Kate Cullen, and designed by E&W Couture, alongside some more traditional English wedding elements with chic accessories by Victoria Millesime and shoes from Emmy London. The hair and make up was kept natural and elegant by Jennifer’s Dressing Table – the perfect English Rose look.”

“The heavenly florals from Bramble & Wild really brought the essence of the English Manor garden to life, with beautiful textures, scent, and unstructured beauty in pastel shades. Of course no English wedding breakfast is complete without antique tableware from Cotswolds Vintage Tea Party – with pearl handled cutlery and floral china.”
