real wedding: blue, yellow & orange floral spring wedding by brancoprata {diana & tiago}

Morning lovelies! Did you catch Part 1 of our epic Paris engagement shoot with the awesome Kate and Andy yesterday? We’ll be sharing more tomorrow, but today we’re taking a little hop over to another beautiful part of Europe for a gorgeous wedding photographed and styled by two of my favourite people in the wedding world, Sofia & Andre from Brancoprata.  Their love of weddings is evident through their soft and romantic images of weddings, Sofia’s natural eye for style adding design flair and personal touches to their couple’s day.  With their work regularly featured on the crème de la crème of wedding blogs, I am absolutely thrilled to share today’s beautiful wedding and delicious details!

Diana and Tiago’s day starts with a pretty and romantic church ceremony, with beautiful pink flowers and delicate details giving way to a vibrant and fun reception party in yellow, orange and blue!  This wedding is full of absolutely stunning details, so I’ve included far more images than I usually would, including just about every single pretty little detail… I will let them speak for themselves ~

We first met in secondary school; we were from the same class and we saw each other every day. After finishing secondary school, we went to different universities, and it was at that time that we realized that we couldn’t live without each other! After 5 years together, we were already thinking about buying a house, and one day Tiago took the first step by taking me out to dinner, and asked me if I wanted to marry him!

We chose to have a religious marriage, in Gondomar Church in our home town, close to Porto. It’s a quite pretty church, and it’s close to the school where we met. After the religious ceremony, the celebration continued in Tiago’s Grandfather’s house.  It is a beautiful place, with a big garden where everybody could enjoy our wedding!  The most important thing was our happiness, and to see that everybody around us was having fun!

My dress was an easy choice; I was looking for a simple dress, without volume, and something different. At the 2nd store I have visited I fell in love with the dress and I bought it right away! I didn’t participate in Tiago’s outfit choice, but he decided for a very elegant black suit.

We were inspired to include personal details from thoughout our lives. For example, Tiago’s father makes handmade filigree, a traditional art from our home town, so we included stationery, menus and accessories made by him using traditional techniques.  I’m a teacher, so we used blackboards for the table plans, and tried to use old items that we found in the house. We decided to go for a wedding based in orange, yellow and blue, these are my favourite colours! And as the weeding was in the beginning of spring, great flowers could be found in these colours!

Our main objective was to create a relaxed environment, where everybody could feel comfortable and enjoy the day. Our families have helped us a lot on the organization, getting the house ready for the party, and to help us on some decisions about the wedding. To our friends we gave them some small tasks to encourage everybody to party!

What was your first dance, and how did you choose the song?

This was a hard decision as we don’t have “our” song. We looked over, and we found Amelie’s Waltz, it’s from a movie we both like, and I always liked a waltz at weddings! After deciding the music we searched for some choreography that we could follow. In the week of the marriage, we practised it at home, and I think that it was one of big moments of our wedding!

Do you have any advice for couples currently planning their wedding?

Have fun on your wedding day! It’s a unique day, and whatever happens you need relax and be happy!
