real wedding: farm-style vintage {mandi & nico}

Happy Wednesday lovelies!  How are you all doing this week?

There’s something so utterly charming about today’s real wedding, it’s relaxed farm style and pretty vintage details.  Mandi & Nico tied the knot on a South African farm, under an old Pepper tree tied with ribbons, simple, yet so effective!  Mandi’s choice of dress, elegantly falling over her baby bump is perfect – the promise of a very exciting new life for these two!  But mostly I love the flowers! Rustic, relaxed and natural, and all locally grown, the soft pink and purple palette echoing the most beautiful sunset skies over the mountains in Cape Town.  All gorgeously captured by Cape Town-based photographers Real Simple Photography.

Here’s the gorgeous Mandi with their story ~

We met through mutual friends, on a cycling trip!  Nico caught me unaware with the proposal over dinner at our local pizza tavern – it was totally unexpected!

My favourite part of the day was arriving at the ceremony, walking down the stairs to Pablo Neruda’s sonnet, and my groom waiting for me under the Pepper tree.

We  found our inspiration in nature, and wanted to reflect a farm-style vintage and natural theme.  We didn’t have a specific colour palette in mind, but it emerged naturally through our choice of flowers.

I wanted my dress to be simple yet elegant, with a touch of vintage.  It had to be soft, flowing fabric to allow room for my growing pregnant tummy!

What was your first dance and how did you choose the song?

The Lost Gospel from Magrugada, it’s been our favourite song since we started dating.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
