Romantic Lake Como Elopement Wedding Inspiration

We’re whisking you away to the lovely Lake Como today for this darling inspiration for an elopement wedding by Anneke Veronica Photography and Wedding Eve. Italy is a popular place for destination weddings for so many reasons from the lovely weather to the spectacular settings! Whether you’re wedding style is a more rustic chic feel or something super elegant – there are heaps of options for you in Italy!

“Could anything be more romantic than eloping to Italy for an intimate wedding? Exactly! So, for this styled wedding shoot we traveled to Italy where we stayed at the most adorable B&B, The Walnut Tree, which was also the first spot for our shoot. A traditional, authentic house in a peaceful area with an amazing view. With all the cosy different spots it’s perfect for a couple to enjoy each others company on their wedding day. The second location being at the beautiful Lake Como, you just can’t help but be blown away by the spectacular views there.

Inspired by local colours and tastes as well as the beautiful rustic landscape with its pale pastel houses –  we especially adored the blush and soft pink buildings along the lake – but also the beautiful pebble beaches with soft grey and sandy colour tones were each used. We used gorgeous fruit such as deep grey/purple grapes and dark apples, together with a lovely local cheese with lavender, creating an antipasti romantica. This is just so ideal for a romantic elopement dinner setting. A small delicate sweet table with matching colour tones set in the loveliest spot, was the perfect setting for a romantic bubbles & sweets moment for the newlyweds.

We created the bride’s look with a mix of elegant and romantic. Her two piece wedding dress with a flowy blush tulle skirt easily fits into an elopement luggage pack too! ( Great tip to consider if you’re marrying abroad or planning an elopement! ) Gorgeous shoes and hairpiece complete this look. The handsome groom doesn’t need more than a good pair of chino’s combined with a white shirt and aubergine purple bowtie and braces. While strolling along Lake Como they read their votes to one another. The stunning scenery made such a special setting for these romantic moments.”
