RUSTIC LUXE BRIDE’S DIARY: THE FLOWERS & CAKE
Hello lovely B.LOVED readers, Happy February!
Since the start of January I feel like the level of wedmin has definitely ramped up. Most nights now involve at least a handful of emails to suppliers and various ‘to-do’s added to my wedding planner – it is a good thing I love organising and am in my element when writing lists! Highlights in January included applying for my passport in my new married name Mrs Sheen…eek! and Chris revealing our secret honeymoon destination that he has been planning for the last couple of months.
I am so excited, straight after the wedding we will be flying to Las Vegas – I have a slight guilty pleasure / roulette table obsession so am hoping I will continue my winning streak with black 13. After 5 nights of living it up we will heading to the Caribbean for 9 nights of beach side relaxation, and finally to top it off we will be ending our trip with 5 nights in New York – I have never been before and am beyond excited – so many places to visit and so much shopping to be done J Chris has done an amazing job at planning this once in a lifetime trip and I cannot wait to share three whole weeks together creating amazing memories! If anyone has any top tips on places to visit please do share in the comments below.
This month I thought I would share some of my floral and cake inspiration. My moodboards should give an insight into the ‘rustic luxe’ feel with our colour scheme of blush pink, gold and glitter set against the rustic wood and brick work of the barn.
When it came to choosing our florist and cake maker these choices were very easy. Since first meeting Euphoric Flowers during the planning of my sisters wedding back in 2011. Simon and Victoria have become great friends. They are unbelievably talented and the nicest people to go with it! They also created the stunning flowers at my best friends wedding last May that I was lucky enough to be bridesmaid at so choosing them to be a part of our day was very easy, as soon as Chris popped the question I got in touch and secured our date. Chris will readily admit that flowers are not his thing and has completely left me up to my own devices for this (which I have loved!). I know that Simon and Victoria will surpass all of my floral expectations and I can’t wait to see what they create for our day.
On to the tasty topic of cakes and we are very lucky to have Emma Drew from Cake Maison creating our big day cake. I first met Emma whilst working on the National Wedding Show and now get to work with her at Sweetpea PR. I have spent many an hour Pinning away inspiration and can’t wait for our tasting with Emma to choose from her mouth-watering flavours, and see her sketches for our own design- each and every cake Emma creates is a work of art so I am very excited to see ours!
This month there is lots more going on including suit and wedding ring shopping – the latter should be vey fun – bring on the bling!
