Alex by flora ros israeli wedding dress designer

We received so many comments on the dresses in our Spring Style Tribe shoot earlier this month, so we wanted to highlight two of the beautiful dress designers we worked with on the shoot! All of the dresses are available at Luella’s Boudoir and owner and BLOVED writer Rachel is here to tell you a little bit about them now…

Limor Rosen has her own studio based in the heart of Tel Aviv. Her dresses are real pieces of art as you can see on her website. Her latest collection is very original and was produced after worldwide research of patterns and fabrics to match her ideas for the dresses. Limor gave a unique twist to her gowns by giving them an African tribal touch, and at Luella’s we are particularly in love with her “Tribal dress”. This wedding dress was inspired by the rituals of various tribes, such as body painting, tattoos and piercings.

The top half of the dress has a geometric pattern which has been placed over skin coloured tulle. The tulle at the back is almost invisible which enhances the feeling that the pattern has been painted on to the skin. The top of this dress takes about 3 days to make as it is made from individual handmade pieces, cut and sewn out of the embroidery and the bottom half has been carefully shaped to give brides the most flattering shape.

Flora Bridal is a another stunning Israeli brand produced by designer, Rinat Asher. Once again her incredible gowns all tell a different story and her creations are extremely unique in style. The inspiration for this beautiful collection comes from Tel Aviv where the dresses are designed and produced. The iconic city is very colourful and bohemian and this is reflected in her latest collection of wedding dresses which are daringly different but still very chic and stylish.

One of our favourites at Luella’s is the Alex dress, it is very different from the traditional bridal dress, as it has a mixture of a relaxed bohemian feel whilst still remaining very fashion forward. With its blouson style bodice, adorned with handmade beads, gentle straps and a sexy open back, this gown is daring yet elegant. The upper part of the skirt, features geometrical seams which flatter the hips and the waist, making it extremely feminine looking. The designer describes it as “a unique jewel” and we think it’s definitely the jewel in her collection. Israeli bridal designers are very talented, and the quality of their work, paired with their knowledge of exactly how to enhance silhouettes is making them a very popular choice for brides. We hope that this South-East inspiration has helped you to discover two of our personal favourites and look forward to welcoming you to book an appointment at our Wimbledon Boutique, so that you can come and appreciate how stunning these wedding gowns truly are! We love to meet BLOVED brides!!

Luella’s Boudoir xx

I was inspired to open Luella's Boudoir following my own wedding in 2005. With a busy career, very little time to visit lots of wedding shops and seven bridesmaids to dress, I longed for a place where I could view everything we needed at the same time. Today Luella's strives to offer brides an incredible, assortment of truly individual items and we continue to ensure that we are offering an exclusive selection of beautiful wedding gowns, bridesmaids dresses and accessories that have been meticulously sourced from all over the world.
