Spring Citrus Indoor Wedding Picnic

The Story: This shoot highlights how you can have a fun and affordable elopement even during a pandemic. Luxury wedding picnics have been popular for a while but this shoot brings the picnic indoors for spring celebrations in less than ideal weather.

The Location: Luxe Rae Loft is a photographic studio and event space rental in Battle Ground, Washington (conveniently also servicing Vancouver and Portland). Filled with natural light, this is a modern versatile space that can be used for bridal showers and is an ideal space for getting ready for wedding snaps.

The Vibe: Citrus inspired fun spring vibes. This shoot uses a colour palette of the blush of ruby red grapefruit, the rusty red of blood orange and the brilliant yellow of yuzu set against an unexpected pop of icy blue. You can almost smell the bright and zesty citrus hues.

The Details: The stunning flower arrangements by Natalie Parks Floral and Design blend spring time pastels with pops of vibrant pink, orange and more. Coffee tables were used to create a sweetheart table with a laid back picnic lounge feel. The cake was kept simple but included hints of blue and decorative citrus elements to tie back to the colour palette and theme.

  • Mismatched coffee tables of different sizes and heights were used together with a rug and pillows to create an indoor spring picnic look and feel.
  • The citrus theme was carried through to the tablescape where lemons were used as an affordable and sustainable place card option with guests’ names written in white calligraphy by The Fresh Hues
  • The fashion forward attire of our bride who is wearing a fun jumpsuit and her groom who is sporting a velvet jacket.
