Woohoo, Summer is here lovelies. June has arrived and with it brings bright colours, fab food, picnics and the social season. June for me is filled with Royal Ascot and Wimbledon, and what do you think of when you think of Wimbledon? Strawberries and cream!! Or is that just me and my foodie obsessed mind?! These fresh, fruity pearls of yumminess mixed with lashings of cream conjure up thoughts of fun and happiness, and how fab would these be provide a little summer wedding inspiration!

bloved-wedding-blog-stawberry-red-wedding-inspirationTaking inspiration from the fruit, you could use the strawberry colour throughout the wedding; in the florals with bright summer berry pinks and reds and perhaps some vintage linen to add a picnic vibe. A bright red lippy would work a treat too and stand out in the wedding pics. Paired with a cream shoe and accessories you have a light and summery wedding wardrobe. Subtle pinks and red hues can be added to the stationary and maybe bridesmaids dresses, you could even use ombre to make the effect slightly more subtle and bring the colour up to date and on trend.

It would be a crime not to make the most of this delicious berry and use it in the wedding food and drink. Think strawberry and basil cocktails, a light summery salad with some strawberries running through and of course strawberry and cream puds and in the wedding cake itself. Just delicious!

Nude Shoes: A nude shoe is the perfect accessory for a wedding and if you don’t want to go down the typical white or ivory bridal route, then the nude court is the way forward. Add a bow and some sparkle to make them more special. Debenhams have these beauties.

Macaron Cake: Macarons are still incredibly popular and provide an alternative to a traditional wedding cake. Mix a few pink and red shades or stick with one and finish with some creamy and blush florals. The tower featured was by the wonderful Anges de Sucre.

Watercolour Stationery: Watercolour and Ombre are still key trends within the wedding industry. I love this collection by Berin Made.

Being named after Jane Austen’s Emma, it is serendipitous that I would end up working in weddings. A country girl at heart, I am equally comfortable roaming the farm in my tweed, surrounded by animals or sat in a beautiful Georgian property dining on afternoon tea and sipping champagne. With a strength in organising and a flair for creativity and a passion for everything wedding related I have been lucky enough to work as a Wedding Co-Ordinator for some stunning venues across the South East. I look after the social media and am Co-Planner at Goose & Berry, luxury wedding & event planners & caterers based in London & Buckinghamshire ( and am on hand to help you plan and design your perfect day.
