styled shoot: boho wedding inspiration
Good morning b.loved’s! Today is all about inspiration, starting this morning with a gorgeous boho styled-shoot which is filled with beautiful ideas and steal-worthy ideas for your big day. With a dreamy floral theme and a vintage-inspired twist, this look is light and fresh, feminine and pretty and packed full of details to make you squeal!
Let’s start with the overall concept, as described by photographer Tatum Reid ~
The shoot was inspired by the vintage boho look. We wanted the freedom and florals of boho, and the lace, pearls and romance of vintage. We focused on florals – reflected in the table plan, head piece and floaty dress. In keeping with the loose boho feel we used a cream strapless dress from Faith Caton-Barber, with a massive sash that made it soft and floaty. The make-up was minimal – with a natural flush look to cheeks with attention on the eyes. The cake had delicate pink petals with pearls – making it soft and romantic. The hair was in a loose side French plait – both playful (boho) and romantic (vintage).
The soft pastel-hued flowers keep the look dainty and girly, with romantic roses and touches of more unconventional wildflowers give a boho twist. Isn’t the cake amazing?! The scalloped layers add volume and detail, while the ribbon, lace and softly draped pearls add more than a hint of romance, paired with pretty vintage crockery and more ribbon and lace details.
I am so in love with the dress!! The delicate polka-dot pattern is too cute, and the oversized sash keeps the look fresh and modern. Designer Faith explains more ~
For this shoot I designed ‘Ella’, a strapless dress with a gently curved neckline. The lightly draped and pleated bodice is fitted to the hip, with a matching soft drape sash and full skirt that swings out when you dance yet maintains a fairly slim silhouette. Ella is made from blush-coloured crepe Georgette with gold spots that catch the light and an ivory satin lining . This dress is very popular as a starting point for bespoke dresses as it is a flattering shape, has a touch of the 1940s about it and is feminine without being too girly and over the top. Prices for something similar in silk would start at £1800.
The bride’s look is completed with natural, nude make-up with a soft flick of eye-liner to accentuate her gorgeous eyes. Her hair, a loose updo of tumbling curls is soft and pretty, and finished with a beautiful floral wreath to really add to the boho-chic style! Keeping the relaxed look, the groom wears a plaid shirt and chino’s, prettied up with a gorgeous berry and wheat boutonnière.

Oh *sigh*. What’s your favourite detail? I’m totally lusting after that dress!
