styled shoot: snow queen {winter inspiration}

Hello my lovelies! I hope you’re all having a wonderful week and the wedding plans are all coming along nicely?  If you have any burning questions, why not pose a question to our resident wedding experts, the  Tweet @blovedweddings with your question using the hashtag #bteamQ or leave a message on our Facebook page!

Over the last few weeks these pretty pages have had something of an Autumnal feel with warm & cosy inspiration and weddings, but today we’re heading into winter with a glittering and sparkling inspiration shoot which I styled earlier this year!

With the resurgence of fairytale movies this year, our inspiration was Snow Queen with a contemporary twist!  Working with Fiona Kelly, who’s experience as both wedding photographer and art director was invaluable, I created something cold, wintery, sparkling and shimmering with a high fashion edge, using a simple palette of white, silver and ice blue.  The striking white and silver Ming’s Empress dress from bespoke bridal designer The State of Grace created the perfect look for our Snow Queen bride, complimented with theatrical makeup by Ana Ospina, strewn with glitter, and accessorised with two stunning headpieces from Victoria Millésime, Beaded Charlston and A Winter’s Tale. Our bride carried a bouquet of white garden and spray roses, eucalyptus leaves, silver brunia and laced with glittering crystals by the gorgeous Steph at  Fairynuff Flowers.

The formal gardens of Fetcham Park House set the stage, with the symmetrical architecture of the house providing the perfect backdrop for an outdoor ceremony area, with mirrored pedestals topped with shimmering white twigs forming the aisle.  At the end of the aisle, an informal altar was decorated with tall white trees, adorned with white and silver feathered birds and strands of shimmering crystals catching the winter light.

Paper princess Amma, from Beyond Beyond, used a feather motif throughout the stationery to compliment the bird theme used in the decor. Tempting Cake created a table filled with tempting winter treats, glitter filled jelly shots, sparkling white cupcakes, macarons and bonbons, and a contemporary statement cake with a stunning sculptural topper took centre stage.

I’d like to thank the whole team for an amazing shoot, and I hope you find some inspiration and ideas for those of you planning your own winter wonderland wedding!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
