sunday sweetness #23: one year of b.loved ~ looking back

Good morning wedding folk!  This morning I am back from sunny South Africa, and as you read this I am probably tucked up in bed dreaming of sunshine and sand… oh and a rather important little fact that it’s b.loved wedding’s one year bloggiversary TODAY!  Yup, trawl back through to the beginning of time, well, 18th March 2011, and you will find my very first post.  Actually I’m cheating a little, technically it was my second post but as I chose to launch on the blogger’s day of silence, For Japan With Love.  Nope, I have no idea why I chose to launch then either!

Anyway, back then we were known by a different name (can you still remember?!) and my first post was this bijoux blue inspiration board.  Oh my, how they’ve improved since then!  Blogging has become a bigger part of my life than I could ever have imagined.  Not just in my daily routine, scheduling posts, chatting on facebook and twitter and reading all my favourite blogs (now there’s a list that’s grown!)  but an actual integral part of who I am and what I do.  Towards the end of last year I began to realise that we’d started to outgrow the name Bijoux Bride, no longer purely about intimate weddings but more about the sentiment behind them, the love, and of course the beautiful beautiful details.  So in January we relaunched as b.loved, a redesigned blog and a new bespoke styling service for brides and wedding professionals… and the reaction was amazing!  In the first few months new doors have opened and exciting projects are being discussed, and b.loved as a brand has continued to grow, and grow!

This is 100% down to YOU!  Yes you!  The people who read b.loved, who are inspired or inspire, who contribute and support and show your appreciation for the hard work and love I put into these pages, whether brides-to-be, newly-weds, suppliers and those of you who are still dreaming of your ‘one day’.  A year ago I would never have believed I could make so many new friends in such a short amount of time, but I did.   True friends. There is not enough space here to name you all, but thank you all.  I would, however, like to give a special mention to Gaby of CapClassique, the first real-life blogger I ever met, and who has supported and guided me throughout the past years ups and downs with cupcakes, champagne and macarons!

As pageviews grow, submissions increase,  b.loved styling receives it’s first enquiries and  recent styled shoots are being lined up for features on well-known blogs and in magazines, I know the second year of b.loved is going to be every bit as fabulous as the first.  If not, more so.

I hope you will continue to join me on the journey! xo

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
