supplier spotlight #15: lola & I ~ 10% off

Morning you lovely things! Hope this week is treating you well?  I’ve been battling with a migrane the last few days and find it hard to make any sense at all when my head is pounding, so apologies if it seems like I’ve been rambling incoherently so far this week!

Today, I want to share a brand new and wonderful accessories designer with you, Lola & I.  We’re even sharing a little treat with you, just in time for Christmas… you’ll find out more at the bottom of this post!

Run by Charlotte Greenland, Lola & I is a boutique specialising in reasonably priced, high quality, hand-made jewellery and accessories, perfect for brides seeking glamorous and unique pieces for their big day.  As well as seasonal collections following current trends, Charlotte loves to design and create bespoke jewellery, helping you achieve your perfect W-day look.

After completing a degree in Jewellery Design, Silversmithing and Goldsmithing, Charlotte worked for prestigious wedding jewellery company Yarwood-White where I made and designed jewellery for three years, until they sadly closed this summer.  Since then, Charlotte moved to France with her husband and little dog Lola, and Lola & I was born.

“I always loved producing beautiful pieces while working in the wedding industry so it was inevitable that as well as creating fashion jewellery I would continue to design and make wedding jewellery” Charlotte Greenland

I was lucky enough to use some bespoke Lola & I pieces for my Secret Garden inspiration shoot earlier this year, so you may recognise the style of some of the pieces.  Characterised by a bold use of colour and large stones, Lola & I’s pieces create a bold and unique statement, whilst maintaining a pretty and delicate bridal look.  The use of colour also makes these the perfect coordinating pieces for your bridesmaids outfits, and what lovely lady wouldn’t appreciate a beautifully packaged Lola & I necklace or bracelet as a bridesmaid gift?

The chic and elegant French influence is evident in Charlotte’s designs, as well as taking inspiration from the latest trends in the fashion and wedding industries.

What trends and themes do you see emerging for 2012?

I believe that the vintage theme will remain a strong trend for 2012 with plenty of beautiful antique lace, warm tones and pearls. Also, a more romantic bohemian feel to weddings will increase the use of forehead bands and flowers worn loosely in naturally-styled hair.

What advice or tips would you give brides-to-be?

The most important thing is to make sure that what you are wearing is comfortable as well as stylish. Remember you will be wearing whatever you choose throughout the whole day!  Quite often when trying on wedding jewellery and accessories, brides can feel a bit over the top. Try to imagine what your jewellery will look like once you have your wedding dress on. Better yet, take it along to your dress and hair trials so that you can get a better feel for how it will look on the day.  Relax and enjoy the big day as it goes soooo quickly!

What’s your favourite thing about working in the wedding industry?

I love working one-on-one with brides and creating something that they really cherish. Getting married is such an exciting time and I love being part of the process, knowing that what I have created has helped to make somebody feel even more incredible on their big day!

To celebrate the launch of Lola & I, Charlotte is offering all Bijoux Bride readers 10% off any order until December 24th 2011, just enter LAUNCHBB at the checkout to claim your discount.  There are certainly a few pieces that will be on my list to Santa this year, perhaps a little something from the Black Vintage Lace collection.

What will be on your list?

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
