supplier spotlight #16: GC Couture

Good morning beautiful brides & happy Friday :)

I hope you are all staying safe and warm with the crazy winds and rain we are having at the moment, perfect weather for staying cosy indoors and catching up on your wedding plans and a few of your favourite blogs!

Today I’m so pleased to finally introduce you to GC Couture, a new concept in luxury cakes from the highly respected team at Genuine Cakes who I met earlier this year at The Luxury Wedding Show.

Owner Marie Sinclair, who launched sister company Genuine Cakes in 2005, has noticed a growing demand for highly detailed, intricate and high-end wedding cakes over the past year, and so launched GC Couture at The Luxury Wedding Show.  During my visit to the show, their stand proved to be exceptionally popular with brides,  sampling some of their beautiful and unique flavours, oohing and aaahing over their stunning individually created cakes from the 2012 collection, as well as making lots of appointments for consultations! (Yum!!)

The 2012 collection is aimed at the bride looking for something different, whether classic, vintage or out-of -the-box, GC Couture are able to create something to suit every bride’s style. Marie’s style is simple & elegant, believing in the less is more ethos.  This year, GC Couture have focussed on tall, slim and elegant cakes incorporating glamourous deep colours, such as purple, chocolate and navy, creating a unique and memorable centrepiece for your wedding day.  As well as the current collection, Marie also loves to transform your ideas into reality from just a few words, taking inspiration from you and the world around us, to be trend setters rather than followers.

GC Couture’s iconic design is the gift cake, a stack of different size and shaped cakes, designed and decorated as gifts and tied with a beautiful bow.  Isn’t the pretty pink bow and cameo detail of ‘Margaret’ just adorable?  And this blue and white design reminds me of a stack of Tiffany’s boxes waiting to be unwrapped, wouldn’t it look perfect with a classic ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ inspired theme?!

With 24 flavours, and 10 more to come in the New Year,  from traditional fruit cake (and the extremely popular FWB ~ fruitcake without the bits!) to Pina Colado, Oreo and Chocolate flavours, as well as gluten-free, vegan and fair trade options, there is something to suit everyone’s tastebuds!  These modern white chocolate creations would create a real wow-factor at the entrance to your reception venue!

The GC Couture collection starts from £600.  GC Couture would be delighted to welcome you (by appointment only) to their studio in Hertforshire for a personal consultation.  For more information, galleries and contact details, visit

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
