Good Morning!  Hope you’ve had a lovely week and are looking forward to a great weekend, however you’re spending it!  I’m working on some great features for next week, so keep checking back for some super inspiration coming your way :)

Back to today, and I’m excited to share with you one of my lovely finds from the National Wedding Show a couple of weeks ago.  If I’m completely honest it was the beautiful array of sparkle on display that first attracted me to Victoria Fergusson’s stand, but once inside I was captivated by the beautifully crafted pieces on offer and I’m delighted to share them with you today.

From her studio in Salisbury, Wiltshire, Victoria specialises in bead embroidery to create intricately detailed headdresses, hair combs, bridal belts and jewellery.  She is also an experienced make-up and hair artist.

“I studied Costume and Make-up for the Performing Arts at The London College of Fashion and through various projects became more and more drawn to embellishment work. I planed my own wedding during my final year and was seduced by the possibilities offered within the industry to satisfy my passion for beading and also continue to use my make-up an hair skills. The two sides of my business work so well together.

I find it quite hard to pin down my style, sometimes pretty, sometimes sophisticted but always elegant and more often than not influenced by the golden age of Hollywood and history of costume.

I love my work and still get a thrill every time I see a photo from a bride wearing my accessories, that’s what I love, seeing how a bride makes a piece her own.

Inspiration for new designs can fly into my head at any time. Sometimes it’s sparked by something I see in a book, film or museum and sometimes it’s simply by beautiful new gems and pearls I source. When I get a new idea I can’t bead fast enough to see the finished results

I can’t think of a career i’d prefer.  I get to be creative which is what makes me tick, while being in touch with happy and excited brides who’s enthusiasm is infectious!

Aren’t they stunning?  From vintage-inspired and art deco pieces, to striking modern designs, Victoria’s accessories would add the perfect finishing touch to any bride’s outfit.

With so much pretty available, how’s a girl to choose? Well, Victoria is also sharing some of her tips for choosing your bridal accessories:

Have an idea how you’d like to wear your hair when discussing and trying on hair accesories. Some items are very versatile and work in most styles and others can be more limiting.

Less is more – There really is truth in the saying. Let one accessory piece be the focal point and co-ordinate with smaller items.

Don’t get too hung up on everything ‘matching’ perfectly, co-ordination is what’s important.

Stay true to your personal style!

This is really great advice, and I would also add to think about not just your dress, but the style of your whole day.  Your accessories are another way to tie it all together.

I hope you love these pieces as much as I do!  I’ve only shown a snapshot of all the wonderful designs available, you can see the full collection here.  I’d love to hear which one’s are your favourites!

If you would like to see and try the pieces on, you can visit Victoria at her studio in Salisbury or at one of a select number of stockists in the UK.  You can also visit her at The Luxury Wedding Show at The Saatchi Gallery, London on 22-23rd October {if you haven’t already got a ticket, take advantage of their current 2 for 1 ticket offer!}

A limited range of pieces are also available online from the brilliant Liberty In Love

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
