supplier spotlight: Debbie Carlisle bridesmaids collection
Hello lovely ladies! I hope you all have a wonderful day ahead? I am off to the Designer Wedding Show at Battersea Park today, a brilliant show full of beautiful ideas and inspiration where I can’t wait to catch up with some of my favourite suppliers. Then afterwards, I’m heading out with my lovely blogging friends to celebrate and say farewell to the lovely Elizabeth from the ever-so-pretty blog Bridal Musings, who is off on a new adventure in San Francisco very soon!
This weekend is also our first wedding anniversary! So, Mr B and I are heading into London to for dinner and bubbles and to catch a show before heading back to a cool contemporary hotel, with a spa treatment the following day! I can’t wait to spend the whole weekend with my wonderful hubby, no emails or twitter allowed ;) Because of this little mini-break I decided to ask a few of my friends to help out with blog posts next week, so you will be treated to some amazing inspiration, ideas, DIY’s and discussion posts!
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves! Today I am excited to share a new collection from one of my much loved accessories designers, Debbie Carlisle. I was first introduced to Debbie on the wonderful world of Twitter, before meeting her at a local bridal fair and being wowed by the intricate, handmade details and creative designs of each piece. I was also lucky enough to wear Debbie’s beautiful ‘Grace‘ headband to the Love My Dress Soiree last summer. We’re also being treated to some ethereal, feminine images from India Hobson who shot the beautiful new collection at White Room Bridal, in Sheffield.
From her studio in Sheffield, Debbie creates stunning bespoke one-off vintage and vintage-inspired bridal accessories using crystal, buttons, glass and pearls with interesting textures and sparkle. She works closely with her brides to design the perfect piece to match your style and personality, as well as picking up details and elements from the all important dress! Specialising in brooch bouquets, and stunning bridal headpieces and accessories, Debbie’s new collection seeks to provide the very best for your fashion-concious bridesmaids too!
“When it comes to bridal accessories most designers tend to focus on pieces for brides which means bridesmaids often ‘end up’ with accessories that are either originally designed for brides – or with high street accessories that any wedding guest could pick up. I thought it was about time style-conscious bridesmaids got a taste of bespoke bridal design for themselves withpieces created especially for them which can double as a special wedding day gift”
Full of glamour and of course, sparkle, the new collection offers something new and exciting for your bridesmaids, something special without being too bridal, or traditional. Inspired by the heritage of her home city, famous for its steel manufacture and metalwork design, and vintage glamour with a modern rock ‘n roll edge, Debbie chose to combine a mix of traditional bridal materials such as diamanté and organza with unusual, modern textures of soft leather and silver wire-work. The result is a collection that has a feminine but edgy feel, appealing to the modern bridesmaid, and coordinating perfectly with Debbie’s bridal pieces.
“I wanted to create a series of pieces that were glamorous enough to make a bridesmaid feel truly special, yet delicate enough to avoid stealing the show from the bride! I loved the idea of mixing traditional bridal materials with more unusual textures not usually seen in bridal design and I think the result is something truly unique”
Each piece can be worn in a number of different ways from headbands to hair combs, clips, brooches and wrist corsages allowing you to coordinate your ‘maids pieces without being too ‘matchy-matchy’. This versatility is perfect for the larger bridal party, where tastes and ages differ, meaning you can choose a piece to compliment each of your ‘maids personalities and differing budgets. The five pieces in the range are all designed to coordinate or compliment pieces from the main bridal collection too, so all you style-concious brides can be sure to achieve that perfect overall look.
