supplier spotlight: doris designs
Happy Friday lovers! I’m delighted to round off the week with some pretty courtesy of DORIS Designs. Based in leafy Surrey, and established by retro-loving Tania Marston, DORIS Designs supplies soft, vintage-style petticoats perfect for your bridesmaids, or even your own retro-inspired bridal look.
“For my own bridesmaids, looking for soft petticoats to go under their full dresses proved difficult. I ended up getting them made especially, but they were flat with hard netting and very itchy. I then realised there was a gap in the market, so I pursued it and then came along DORIS Designs. We sell beautiful handcrafted petticoats in lots of vintage and modern colours.”
The stunning images throughout this post are courtesy of Eliza Clare, from a recent shoot at Fetcham Park with a team of fabulous, creative and crazy genius wedding suppliers. Don’t miss the full creative, floral fantasy shoot on Eliza Clare’s blog.
Each skirt is made from up to 36 meters (yes, really!) of high quality double layered soft chiffon, in two lengths and a myriad of different colours. The petticoat style skirts can be worn on their own, or as a layer to your own dress to create fullness and shape, and even add a splash of colour. They are super soft and bouncy, adding movement and a playful touch to your outfit, whether 50’s inspired or rock-chick style! DORIS Designs also creates cute petticoats for the younger members of your wedding party, a cute flower girl outfit in a choice of single or multi-coloured chiffon that simply be worn with a pretty top and shoes.
“I love everything about weddings. The industry is so happy and people get so excited when they receive their skirts. I always get such lovely feedback.”
In March, DORIS Designs are launching a new range of beautiful colours.
“We have aligned the shades with Paris Fashion week. We have some fun Jubilee and Olympic multi-colour skirts for Brides who are integrating these colours into their weddings this year, We also have multi- vintage-coloured skirts coming which are to die for – I have never seen anything quite like them!”
