supplier spotlight: itty bitty bijou {new collaborator}

Good morning all! So today’s the day it all (officially) starts! After 7 years of planning (makes 12 months of wedding planning sound like a walk in the park, right?!) the London 2012 Olympics are finally here and kicking off tonight in an opening ceremony that promises to be spectacular!  Whether you have tickets, will be glued to your TV screen, or perhaps even getting married during the Olympic fever, I hope you all enjoy the next few weeks!

So, how much did you love yesterday’s brand new feature? I’m so excited to offer beautiful free stationery printables for you to use at your wedding, and even more excited to introduce you to the amazing team behind the designs, Catharine & James, of Itty Bitty & Bijou.  When I first discovered their work earlier this year I fell immediately in love with their clean and contemporary style, always with a dash of pretty, and quickly got in touch to find out more about how we could work together.  Paper has always been one of my favourite element of wedding decor as it ties together every aspect of your day. It seems right to share some more papery loveliness right here, and this lovely duo were right on board with my ideas!  Every few weeks we’ll be sharing a new set of stationery for you to print out and use at your wedding, inspired by b.loved’s very own mood boards there will be something to suit every style!  If you have a favourite board and would like us to create something for you, please get in touch!

Catherine & James two great loves (besides each other!) are graphic design and stationery.  When they started out in the industry, as Catherine Noble Photography, their background in graphic design meant they helped clients by designing Save the Dates and other stationery elements, which naturally progressed into Itty Bitty & Bijou.

“The wedding industry is such an exciting world to be part of – there are always new ideas, new trends and new excited couples wanting to plan a wedding which reflects themselves. We want to help deliver a personal touch and something a little different and working with couples at such an important and special time in their lives is something we feel very privileged about”

Itty Bitty & Bijou offer bespoke designs created to your exact brief, and are mostly inspired by the brides and grooms they are designing for. With a clean graphical style, and a love of typography, Itty Bitty Bijou designs are font focussed, but they also create their own illustrations and prints.  They are always searching to give their couples a design that no-one else has, something totally unique and designed to reflect their style.

“We find inspirations in photography, colour, typography and our love of graphic design and even fashion. We love to look to the best wedding blogs, our favourite being b.loved and we find inspiration in their mood boards as well as our own”

They also (like me!) are all about the personal touches and adding meaning to the day.  Don’t be put off by the tag “bespoke”, Catharine & James are pleased to offer reasonably priced design, and can also offer the artwork on a disk for you to choose your own printers to your own budget.

I asked Catharine & James a couple of questions about stationery designs, and the things you should consider when planning your wedding suite ~

What trends and themes do you see emerging for 2012?

Adding your own touches, DIY’s and being quirky is a trend in itself which more and more couples are opting for. We  follow the work of Elie Saab and the pretty pastel colours from his Spring Summer collection have indeed inspired the industry. We think his latest collections including his Couture range will inspire Autumn Winter 2012/13 weddings. With an emphasis on embellishments and details and a luxurious colour palette ranging from nudes to metallics, black and peacock green we feel this will have an exciting impact too!

What advice would you give couples before planning their stationery?

We always advise couples to collate images and examples of things they like and what their wedding style will be.  We find that most couples ask us for our own opinions, input and ideas which being a creative pair we have a lot of! Whilst we enjoy this we always encourage our clients to be confident in their own ideas and style preferences too, that way we can do the best job for them. This gives us a good insight into them as a couple, and their personalities. This is also a great idea if you want to create your own stationery and décor pieces for your wedding. Using Pinterest is a fantastic way save and share your favourite images as well as being great for your research and inspiration.

It’s always exciting to introduce new suppliers, but I have such a lot of love for these two lovely people, and I hope you do too!  Check out Itty Bitty & Bijou’s beautiful blog for beautiful design and inspiration or get in touch for more information on their bespoke stationery design. You can also follow their day to day musings and inspirations on Facebook, Twitter and (my fave for pretty things!) Pinterest.

We’ll be sharing another beautiful set of stationery printables soon, so be sure to check back often!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
