supplier spotlight: the mae collection {by johanna hehir}

Good morning lovelies & happy Friday!

Phew, I am so glad to make it to the end of this week! It not only felt super long after the short week last week (so true!) but I’ve been looking forward to a rather special workshop with William Clarke Flowers that I’ve been invited to tomorrow, and time always goes slowly when you’re waiting for something exciting!!  Speaking of exciting things, today is the very last day to enter our Fearless Bridal competition, where you could win one of three shoots with Yolande De Vries Photography, styling by b.loved and a hair & makeup stylist on hand for you on the day.  What is Fearless Bridal? Click here to read & see all about it, and then click here to enter.  It’s really that simple.  And you don’t have to be a bride-to-be to enter, you can be recently or long married, and this one’s open to all you gorgeous wedding pro’s too!

A few weeks ago, I was invited to the launch party of Mae, a gorgeous new wedding dress collection by long-time favourite designer Johanna Hehir.  Johanna’s dresses have been favourites among contemporary brides for more than 10 years, using the best quality silks and laces from around Europe, she creates beautiful gowns with fluidity and natural elegance. The images throughout this post are from the launch shoot which Joanna styled.  A rustic, bohemian, laid-back and quintessentially British shoot, showcasing the easy elegance of the new collection.

Stepping into her Chiltern Street boutique, filled with the best of the wedding industry sipping pink bubbles and nibbling delicious cupcakes, we entered into a world of ivory silk, crepe and lace bliss.  When I spoke to Johanna about the inspiration behind the collection, she told me she was inspired by her own daughter’s style, fresh, modern and pretty.  The Mae collection embodies this style with a range of fresh, feminine dresses that appeal to the modern bride, looking for a simple and elegant dress at an affordable price.  Selecting beautiful soft georgette, silk crepe and vintage-style lace, the new collection is most definitely a Johanna Hehir design, yet with a softer, more relaxed style.

With prices ranging from £1000 to £1500 the new Mae collection is designed to be an affordable and beautifully detailed for brides.  The soft draped fabrics are the perfect choice for a beautiful countryside wedding, with enough elegance and poise for a more formal celebration too.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
