They say simplicity is the ultimate in sophistication, so it’s no surprise we love black tie weddings with their minimal monochrome palette and understated classic style.  Far from being boring, done right, this theme can be a daring choice for couples who want to inject a little personality into their day but shy away from colour.  German wedding planners Sabrina and Sinah from Agentur Traumhochzeit, alongside photographer Jennifer Hejna, added creative touches to bring this black tie wedding inspiration shoot up to date, with elegant florals, striped linen and a cute bow-tie motif used throughout. We love the hanging bow-tie backdrop – more please!!

As wedding planners based in Germany we wanted to show couples an alternative to the normal pastel & floral wedding theme.  We had been thinking about the black tie wedding trend and wanted to show our couples to be braver by bringing an elegant black & white theme up to date with some creative ideas.  The venue, Florian Tower, had hints of the Empire State Building in it’s design, so we incorporated some luxury New York-inspired details including letterpress stationery from Letterjazz – a technique that is still relatively undiscovered in Germany.

We also wanted to show an American influence in the floral design, especially in the bouquet, which Bumenhaus an Hofgarten created to combine elegance, modernity and creatvity!  We especially loved the flowers under glass cloches on the table.  Using trendy striped table linen enhanced the floral design perfectly – such an effective and low-cost option. We discretely incorporated the black tie motif into the stationery – seating plan and table numbers – to tie the look together.  Of course the black tie theme continued in the dessert bar.  Heike from Tortenmacher supplied tasty macarons and petit four amongst other, which Sabrina from Nasch Tisch lovingly integrated into the design.

Our model bride wore a black belt with a bow at the back over her dress. For the evening she was dressed with the elegant long and bodyhugging mermaid dress, from La Belle.  Groom Stephan was dressed by The Bloke in a trendy combination of midnight blue and black.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
