TICKLED PINK
The month of love has arrived and it’s got me feeling rather happy and girly, it has to be said! I adore all things romantic, blush and rose and with one of this year’s Pantone’s colour of the year, Rose Quartz – well, it’s the perfect opportunity to play around with this colour. Rose Quartz isn’t quite baby doll pink or dusty pink, it has a beautiful tone to it, perfect for weddings at any time of the year. I’m not exactly a red rose person; pink is definitely my colour, so this is a little bit of heaven, serious swooning going on!
The obvious choice to inject a touch of pink is the florals and with the name in the colour, an obvious choice is with roses. Pale pinks with a slight vintage touch would work beautifully well, paired with some pink peonies and some Astilbe. Flowing silk ribbons add that romantic element to bouquets and floral displays. Muted pastel pinks work well on a lovely iced cake, whether iced or butter creamed, depending on your style it adds to the colour effect. Perhaps try some ombré of some lighter pinks. For the fashion lovers out there, why not opt for a pair of pink shoes, or a light hue on your nails. Perhaps match with your bridesmaids and choose some blush dresses for them to wear. Foodies and cocktail connoisseurs could create a rose and lychee Martini (my fave!) and serve them with some pale pink raspberry macarons. Add a luxe and elegant element by mixing with golds and metallic.
Such a beautiful colour palette choice and yes, I’m biased as I adore it, but this wonderfully romantic blush and rose option will hopefully leave you feeling tickled pink!
