turn the tide Christmas appeal {win a couple shoot}

Good morning my b.loveds!  I hope you all had a festive weekend putting up the tree and decorations? It’s looking so pretty in my new neighbourhood with all the twinkling lights, I can’t help but smile every time I pass them!

This morning, I’m putting my usual inspiration board on hold.  Today’s post may be lacking in images, but I’m still hoping to inspire you.  Inspire you to help, inspire you to give, and in return I’m giving away a very special prize.

At this time of year, it’s easy to become absorbed into the excitement of gifts, and the abundance of luxurious treats and temping food.  It’s also a time that we should take a minute to think of those less fortunate than us.  As most of you know, I have a strong connection with South Africa.  I have visited many times over the years, and have fallen in love with this magical, rainbow nation over, and over again.  But there is another side to this beautiful country, hidden just below the surface, out of sight and so easy to ignore.  In 2011 an estimated 5.6 million people in South Africa were living with HIV / AIDS, the highest number of any country in the world.  Even more devastatingly, there are approximately 2.01 million AIDS orphans in South Africa.  Over 90% of these children do not have HIV, they are the future of a country that needs them, but without help they are vulnerable, un-nurtured and uneducated.  So this year, we decided to do something about it.  Set up by Gaby, of SouthBound Bride, this is our Turn the Tide Christmas Appeal.

Four countries. Four bloggers. One great cause.

This Christmas, SouthBound Bride, b.loved, Magnolia Rouge and At First Blush & Co. have joined together to raise money for Starfish Greathearts Foundation. As bloggers, we spend every day finding the prettiest and most inspiring ideas, but there’s nothing more inspiring to all of us than the fantastic work done by Starfish amongst AIDS orphans in South Africa. They bring hope and support to so many children who desperately need it, and at this time of year more than ever, it’s time to give back and help to turn the tide.

We hope you’ll give generously, and to celebrate this appeal, we’re giving away four styled couple shoots (one each in the US, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK). Each will be photographed by a top photographer (further details, terms & conditions to follow) and styled by ourselves and our associates. They are perfect for an engagement, an anniversary, or just to honour your relationship!

In the UK, I will be giving away a couple shoot styled by b.loved and photographed by the amazing Anneli Marinovich.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Donate through JustGiving at our official page – you can give any amount, but every cent really does count!
  2. Go to our Facebook page and leave us a comment saying in which of the countries you are based, and telling us your love story.
  3. In January we’ll narrow entries down to a top 3 for each location, and readers will have the chance to vote to select our winners.

Anyone can enter, you don’t have to be getting married, you don’t have to be engaged.  It’s all about the love and helping a great cause, so please shout to all your friends and family and get them involved.  Share the links on your Facebook page, Twitter, and if you have one, on your blog!  Let’s make 2013 a better year for all the children who’s lives will be made better by Starfish.

Thank you so much for your support!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
