Wedding Invitation Designs: Basic Invite Has It All

So the B.LOVED team are into wedding stationery full stop and we love the ever growing options for DIY wedding invitation designs

It can be confusing trying to work out the best supplier, but ultimately every couple wants the same thing: beautiful looking invites that are fully customisable, affordable and easy to use. You want them to reflect your wedding style and you as a couple, plus the invitations are the first glimpse that your guests will get into your wedding, so it’s important that you get it right.

Basic Invite prides itself on customisation which is why we wanted to take a look at what they offer for our readers. They provide a full stationery suite including printed invites, save the dates, enclosure cards, wedding menus and thank you cards etc. They also provide free wedding websites which can be matched to your printed materials giving the whole experience a consistent look and feel for your guests.

The website is super easy to use. Click on one of the 1,200 invitation templates and start customising your design, add your details and finalise your mock up. No need to login or provide your particulars before you check it out. You can customise the colours, text and even the shape of your design.

For a small fee you can order a sample to get it in your hands ASAP. Samples require paper—choose from options including matt, smooth, shimmer, luxe velvet and double thick matt. All of this means that in less than five minutes you can have a high quality mockup and a hard copy sample on its way to you via the post.

Colour, Colour, Colour

Colour customisation has to be one of the best features of Basic Invite’s service. Their wedding invitation designs have over 180 colour options and you can filter design templates based on colour, or after you have selected one, edit the colour of each element of the invite. For example, we worked with the Graceful Garden template and there were 13 different parts of the card that we could change from the text (over 100 different fonts) and background colour, through to each individual part of the foliage.

The emphasis on colours extends through all wedding related products including their wedding websites (which also offer 180 colours) and the printed ‘peel and seal’ envelopes which are available in 40 different colours.

Cheap Wedding Invites

Affordability is a key factor as we mentioned above, and Basic Invite provides high quality options for people looking for cheap wedding invites. Most of the invites listed range from as low as US$0.99 each, while the smaller items such as direction cards and registry cards range from US$0.29 to $0.67, depending on how many you order.

Another affordable option is their seal and send invitations, an all in one product that allows you to fold, stick and send. This saves the cost of individual envelopes, but has the same customisation and suite of associated stationery as your primary invite product. Looking at Framed Sophistication, as an example, this allows couples to insert their own image and comes with wedding menus, place cards, website design etc. The other smart and practical thing they’ve done is create an address collection tool, so you just share a link with your guests, they insert their preferred address then Basic Invite prints it for you. Think of all the time that you will save!

Customer Love

Anyone who has been through the process of creating their own wedding invitation design online will know that customer support is important. Basic Invite provides a ‘Love It Guarantee’. If you don’t love the final product, Basic Invite will either replace it with something else or give your money back, no questions asked.

We love how Basic Invite’s service makes the whole process so easy, like providing a simple guide to invitation wording, including a spell check so you can’t mess things up and even offering a personal design review, if needed. All in all, this makes Basic Invite a fantastic low cost but high quality customisable option for couples that want to take control of designing their wedding stationery suite.
