Wedding Trends We Loved at The National Wedding Show!
We can’t wait to give you the lowdown on all the details and trends we saw at The National Wedding Show in Manchester at the weekend! Manchester Central looked amazing and it was great to see some fabulous suppliers all at once under one roof. I must begin with the amazing Riki Dalal and Anna Georgina wedding dresses displayed by The White Gallery boutique in beautiful Ramsbottom. This stand was my absolute favourite – they had such a vast choice of beautiful gowns and designs, many are heavily embellished and detailed, and perfect for the fashion forward bride who is looking for a wedding dress which is super stylish, modern and beyond pretty! I loved that they had a great selection of none white wedding dress options in a more nude tone too which makes the detailing and overlay of white really stand out.
Floral designers Wild and Wondorous had an amazing stand at the show which they had completely transformed into what felt just like a cosy shop filled with stylish displays. This is a real talent to do in itself! Their look was very rustic chic meets bohemian and I loved the burnt orange and red colours they showcased for this season and plenty of on trend foliage and succulents – yes please! They use locally grown stock too which I think is a fabulous factor. Their creative floral skills spilled over to the Inspiration Bakes stand too with pumpkins galore!
Qube Events were the creative stylists who had a stand filled with various table settings and they also designed the amazing Secret Garden VIP Area, a beautiful lounge space with a bar under a Tipi. This absolutely looked like a stylish bar you’d like to go to and totally the best inspiration for a fab outdoor wedding in a beautiful setting. Think Barn weddings! My favourite table design by Qube Events was the rustic chic meets boho and industrial table. With an installation over the table of foliage and the statement geometric pendant lights hung from it, this would look incredible in an al fresco setting for your reception or in a Tipi to create ambient lighting.
I’ve really got to tell you abut the Ben Sherman display because it oozed style and sophistication! It’s creative displays felt like you were in a boutique and I was really quite excited about looking through the fabric swatch books at the on trend checks and different options for creating the coolest grooms suits and accessories. I didn’t expect to be so into the groomswear but they really inspired me and I recommend taking a look at their website. The outfits they put together for the catwalk show were awesome too.
There was a fantastic dedicated space for Vintage Suppliers and I loved the tablescape and backdrop designs by florist Sweetpea and Thyme. She mixed foliage and florals to create dramatic whimsical florals including an amazing table runner, and added contemporary touches such as copper wine glasses and white marble plates with copper cutlery. I love how the flowers are different heights and look so natural as though they have grown there naturally – and the beautiful muted roses nestled in the designs and huge dahlia were stunning.
There were some darker colour palettes to inspire for the Autumn and Winter seasons such as the Marie Antoinette Cakes display with a dramatic dark floral backdrop. These cakes were divine! Contemporary and super creative designs to suit different wedding styles. The intricate florals were a key feature and looked so real too. Next we have the Paragon Floral Design display with a magnificent installation over the table and plenty of foliage and bohemian details.
The Secret Garden VIP section was so lovely, you could easily have relaxed there for a few drinks enjoying the atmosphere and discussing the ideas you’ve seen. Following on from this pretty I discovered Fetti and Bow who create statement balloons for weddings and they had really fun examples to see. From a fabulous balloon arch with dashes of flowers and a base of beautiful pumpkins, to gold dipped balloons and designs as table numbers filled with foliage and floating from strands of Ivy – perfect for Summer garden weddings!
