YOUR CINDERELLA MOMENT
Whether you’ve opted for a tradtional full-length wedding dress or have chosedn to say ‘I Do’ in a knee length number, a pair of uber glamorous heels (or flats) to walk down the aisle is a must!
There are lots of tips that we can give when it comes to choosing the right pair of shoes, but the most important one of all is to make sure that they are really, really comfortable. This may mean paying a little bit more, but it will be well worth it when you reach the end of the night, and realise that you haven’t had to borrow your bridesmaids shoes or dance the night away in bare feet!
If you’re worried about sore or tired feet, consider purchasing two pairs of shoes, but If you do decide to go for this optionremember to take this into account when having the hem adjusted on your dress. You may need to go a little bit shorter if you are going to be switching to a lower heel later on. You should pay careful attention to the detailing on the bottom of your dress and avoid a stiletto heel if you are going for a very detailed hem. In this instance a wedge, kitten or block heel would be a much better option.
You should also give consideration to your venue and how much walking you are going to be doing outside and once again select a heel that you think will work best. In terms of styling, it is important that your shoes compliment your dress and there are plenty of things that you may wish to consider when choosing the perfect pair. Take a look at the following options for some fabulous shoe styling inspiration.
Lets Go Vintage
Vintage style dresses are still very popular. With designers taking inspiration from the 1940’s we’d recommend styling this type of dress with a T-bar shoe. There are plenty of different options to choose from, from Charlotte Mills Amelia to Emmy’s Ella.
It’s All About the Detail
Often dresses are chosen because of a unique detail and although it’s sometimes difficult to find an exact match when you are choosing your shoes, it may be possible to find a similar detail that compliments your dress. Phoenix from Emmy Shoes is one of our favourites.
If you are going to blow the bank on your dress you can’t afford to let your outfit down by not giving the same kind of care and attention to your shoes. We love these gorgeous Aurelia shoes by Luxury shoe designer Emmy Scarterfield…they are seriously stunning.
Keeping it Simple
It’s not all about making a statement and some of you may prefer to keep it simple. These cute plain satin styles by Rainbow Club, work perfectly with a simpler style dress.
A Splash of Colour
It’s no longer the case that you have to wear white shoes to your wedding and there are a number of amazing colours to choose from. Whether you opt for the bright jewel tones of Alexis from Charlotte Mills or subtle pastel shades of Estella from Emmy Shoes, why not dare to be different.
Comfort is important – but it can still mean being super stylish too! We’ve chosen some really cute flat styles for you to consider. Charlotte Mills Love Heart ballet flats are super sweet, while Emmy’s Jude still add a touch of sparkle to your outfit.
Bang on Trend
The ankle strap is a great alterative to the T-bar and is a classy way of ensuring that you still look good whilst feeling secure in your wedding shoes. We simply adore this pair of baby blue ‘Ana’ shoes by Charlotte Mills.
Once your’ve found the perfect pair try to wear your new shoes in – even if it’s just around the house – this will help them to feel more comfortable and could also avoid you slipping up the aisle (eeek!)
